Woman Dies Near Husband's Grave

image

OMG!  This is horrible.  But then why I am chuckling?!??  I am soooo going to hell.

A 76-year-old woman who drove to a cemetery to visit her husband’s grave has been killed by her own car. The woman inadvertently left the car running and in gear when she stopped at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Queens Sunday afternoon, police said. She was about 50 feet from her husband’s grave when the car mowed her down. She died at the scene.

Holy Crap!

image

This was not a game.  It was an ASS WHOOPING!

The Detroit Tigers now have one thing in common with their 1993 counterparts—a 17-run victory.

They hope to add a second item to that list by becoming the first Tigers team since that year to finish the season with a winning record.

ROTFLMAO!

image

Ahhh..do you feel that?  That is the great feeling of irony!

Limbaugh turned himself in to authorities about 4 p.m. on a warrant for fraud to conceal information to obtain a prescription, the first charge in the nearly 3-year-old case, said Teri Barbera, a spokeswoman for the state attorney. He was released an hour later on $3,000 bail.

Lobbying Reform Bill Won't Ban Gifts

image

So what exactly are they reforming anyway?

A measure is before Congress that House Republicans hope will scrub their image after the scandals of lobbyist Jack Abramoff and Congressman Randy Duke Cunningham. But the bill will still let lobbyists give lawmakers gifts, and even jobs after their term is up.

According to this story in the Washington Post, congressmen see no political downside to not reforming the money-drenched cesspool that is Congress.

The scandal surrounding disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff has been a Washington obsession for months, but Republican lawmakers who returned from a two-week recess this week said they felt free to pass a relatively tepid ethics bill because their constituents rarely mention the issue.

'Nothing Prepared Me for Bush'

image

No, this is not some tryst about lipstick lesbians, you sicko!  But I will be buying this book.

With over 65 percent of Americans disapproving of our current president, why can’t we get some credible opposition in Washington? As we head towards midterm elections, and look ahead to those of 2008, it’s a question that is weighing heavily on millions of American minds.

LIAR!!!

image

From ThinkProgress.org:

Tonight on 60 Minutes, Tyler Drumheller, the former chief of the CIA’s Europe division, revealed that in the fall of 2002, President Bush, Vice President Cheney, then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice and others were told by CIA Director George Tenet that Iraq’s foreign minister — who agreed to act as a spy for the United States — had reported that Iraq had no active weapons of mass destruction program

Here a portion of the transcript of the interview:

BRADLEY: According to Drumheller, CIA Director George Tenet delivered the news about the Iraqi foreign minister at a high level meeting at the White House.

DRUMHELLER: The President, the Vice President, Dr. Rice…

BRADLEY: And at that meeting…?

DRUMHELLER: They were enthusiastic because they said they were excited that we had a high-level penetration of Iraqis.

BRADLEY: And what did this high level source tell you?

DRUMHELLER: He told us that they had no active weapons of mass destruction program.

BRADLEY: So, in the fall of 2002, before going to war, we had it on good authority from a source within Saddam’s inner circle that he didn’t have an active program for weapons of mass destruction?

DRUMHELLER: Yes.

BRADLEY: There’s no doubt in your mind about that?

DRUMHELLER: No doubt in my mind at all.

BRADLEY: It directly contradicts, though, what the President and his staff were telling us.

DRUMHELLER: The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming, and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy, to justify the policy.

Lawyer: Rice Allegedly Leaked Defense Info

image

This is interesting. I wonder if she will actually be forced to testify.

A federal judge granted a defense request to issue subpoenas sought by the defense for Rice and three other government officials in the trial of Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman. The two are former lobbyists with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee who are charged with receiving and disclosing national defense information.
